Jolana Nika on Her Fitness Journey

Growing up with a father who was a professional athlete, fitness was never out of the question for Jolana. She struggled when she was younger with weight issues, she had problems putting on weight. “I know that might sound silly to a lot of people who struggle with weight loss, but at the time curvy bodies were normal.” She began taking fitness very seriously and says that she basically lived at the gym. “I was forced to learn how to put on weight healthily and what worked for my body. I was taught that by eating high fat and high carbs would allow me to put on more weight.” She admits that this lead her to feel unstable and terrible. Her journey to a healthy lifestyle started when she moved to the US from Sweden.

Jolana knew from an early age that fitness was big and necessary part of her life, and found her passion for it. “I started like everyone else by getting certified and just went for it.” She used her networking skills and social skills to her advantage by making as many connections as possible. In any career, she says, you need talent to yield results, but you can only get the opportunities to show case what you have by having the right connections. “I full heartedly believe that connections are everything. I have always been my own walking advertisement. My work speaks for itself.”

Jolana believes she has always had the entrepreneur tick in her. “I am always hungry for new business opportunities, having always dreamed about having an athletic wear brand, which she turned into reality. “The LA lifestyle of no effort chic inspired me and my partner to create LAZY. Gym to the bar attire that looks sophisticated yet effortless. You can throw on lipstick and stilettos or sneakers and you’re ready to go.”

Her clients mostly want to lose weight and as Jolana puts it, have a great butt. “Every plan is uniquely tailored to my clients body, health concerns and lifestyle.” She makes sure the diet she puts them on is the correct one for their blood type, heritage and goals. “I am never going to prescribe the same diet to my client that sits at a desk all day to my other clients that spend all day on their feet.” Her workouts are a combination between her own knowledge and intuition.

When it comes to losing weight and getting in shape, Jolana says that diet is everything. “You need the diet and workout to be correct for your body. The age old calories in and calories out is a must, along with a proper diet. I can’t stress this enough.” She says that it is important to make sure that the diet you are doing is not inflaming you. “This is a wide spread problem I see with all of my clients, they are doing the right things. No gluten, no dairy, grain free etc., and still feel and look tired and bloated.” The health issues she faces pushed her to find the right answer. She asked herself, “Why don’t we feel and look great when we are following everything right?” Jolana claims that she has found the missing link between all of these diets that will certainly work for everyone.

“I recently learned about FOD MAPS and started reducing them in my diet, without going too deep, these are a short chain of carbohydrates (onion, garlic, cauliflower) that so many people have trouble digesting, leading to skin problems, bloating and low energy and inability to lose weight, no matter how little they all eat.” She was blown away with how great she felt in only a matter of days. By just swapping out broccoli and using Swiss chard, she says that her life had changed. “I know this is going to be the new revolutionary diet. This is not meant to be long term, but this gives people the ability to feel amazing while they heal their gut. I have created a meal and diet plan are all Low FODMAP and taste incredible. This will all be launching in a month and will include breakfast, lunch, dinner and even guilt free desserts.”

In five years, Jolana says that she will have a home in LA and Europe and will continue to focus on her health products. “Stay tuned for my ebook and soon protein powder as well as other goodies!”
